**May the Lamb who was slain receive the reward of His suffering.** Join Pastor Mark Cowart in today’s inspiring broadcast as he teaches the importance of abiding in Christ to avoid dead works and maintain a vibrant relationship with God. He shows how believers can effectively combat temptation and thrive in their faith.

Pastor Mark teaches that we can never arrive at where God has called us in the energy of the flesh, citing Zechariah 4:6 to assert that it’s “Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty. He goes on to point us to Romans 8:13, which warns that those who live according to the flesh will die, but if by the Spirit we put to death the misdeeds of the body, we will live.

He teaches that a yoke is not a bad thing; it was made so that heavy burdens are easier to bear. He references John 15:5 to warn that if we do not properly abide in the vine, we fall into dead works, which are meant to be repented of. Thus, Jesus wanted us back so much that He came to destroy the devil at his own game; as long as we remain and abide in Him and His word abides in us, we destroy the devil in every area of our minds. He warns that if we do not abide in Him, stay in His word, and operate in His truth, we may be susceptible to the same temptation that corrupted Eve’s mind.

Pastor Mark continues to teach that every born-again Christian is in full-time ministry because Christ has made us able ministers of the new covenant. He explains that the key to answered prayers is to abide in Christ and His words in us, as we lose our way when we’re detached from the vine. He encourages us to prioritize God’s word and stay rooted in the vine to thrive, or risk shriveling up if we stick to our own ways. He cites John 17:3 to establish that life flows within us as a result of our intimacy with God and fellowship with Him.
